Welcome to YA BANA VILLAGE!

YA BANA means for the children and this
village is an ambitious project aimed at providing
vulnerable and needy children with family type homes
while holistically addressing their emotional, educational, spiritual, and cultural needs through trained
housemothers and ongoing programs.

• A ten acre piece of beautiful farm land property was purchased.
• Phase one area is completely secured with fencing, gate, and security house (costing $45,000)
• Three relocation houses (at approx. $15,000 each) have been built on the back portion of the property where three families (original squatters) were relocated and are now neighbors to the Ya Bana Village.
  
• Four cluster homes are complete at an approximate cost of $27,000 each and will house a total of 28 children, 3 "Moms" and a Village "Father & Mother".  Each house is equipped with an oven, refrigerator, furnishings, curtains, linens, appliances, household items, etc. (at approx. $10,000 per cottage).
• Sidewalks, landscaping, and grass are complete for the first cluster homes.
• A grassy playground area with play equipment has been installed as well as a cluster vegetable garden site (costing approx. $5400).
• Funding is available for some of the solar water heaters for the homes.
• Funding is secure to begin construction of the Ya Bana ELC.  Construction is set to begin immediately to meet the needs for education for young Ya Bana children as well as the community.
• Six cluster home footings are dug, ready to continue building as needed and as funding is available.

• Farm House Administration: The old farmhouse, located at the front of Ya Bana Village will be renovated at an estimated cost of $40,000 and will provide administrative offices for the following staff - Admin, Finance, Social Worker, and Nurse.  The surrounding out buildings, also part of this renovation project, will provide necessary storage for groceries that will be delivered on a weekly basis.  The "Moms" will do their shopping from this location.
• Sustainability Projects: Three sustainability projects will also be located at the Farm House.  First, a Jumble Sale (Yard Sale), held once a month which will offer affordable clothing, furnishings, etc. to Ya Bana Village neighbors.  Secondly, a recycling project is also planned for the near future and will assist in "cleaning up" the community as well as sustainable income.  Lastly, there are plans to renovate an existing squatter home which will be available for local and foreign ministry teams to rent out and sustain.
• Clinic: A two room clinic will be built on the front side of the administration areas to offer medical assistance to Ya Bana Village residents and community members.
• Sports Field: Development plans are in place for a large area designated and equipped for soccer, rugby, and other activities.
• Youth Center: Application and registration has begun for the Ya Bana Village Youth Center.  A much needed housing alternative for students who have aged-out of the cluster homes and are preparing themselves to be productive citizens through job skill training and college education.  Inspired by past children, who against all odds, have made it to stand on their own two feet, this $400,000 Youth Center will house 24 students and provide them a place where they can live, study, and learn life skills.  Ya Bana friends are excitedly sharing this tremendous need to others and some have already committed to give to this God-sized project.  Cost includes construction, furnishings, and maintenance.
• Multipurpose Pavillon: Plans are being drawn up to provide space large enough to hold church, as well as other recreational and educational functions.
• Baby Home: A baby home will be built to specifically take care of the needs for infant babies.  There will be three infants per house "mom".
• Additional Village Cluster Homes: Future plans are to build additional cluster homes on the property.
