Nonhlanhla
Nonhlanhla is 19 years old and her name means Lucky. She came to live at Good Hope in 2006.  Despite some early childhood traumas, she is a joyful young lady who draws her strength and joy from her Lord. She has an infectious smile and loves people.   She leads worship on Sundays at Good Hope and loves to sing and dance.  When mission teams from America are at Good Hope, they enjoy delicious cookies that Nana (as some of us call her) makes. Her dream is to become an actor. She is doing very well at home, school and also at State Theater where she is taking classes in singing, dancing and acting. She has just received a “Best Performer Award” for her hard work. It is very difficult however, to continue these classes without assistance with special class fees and transport money.  Please pray for the assistance needed.

Gift

My decision to incorporate fundraising for a local South African school while traveling  brought my family to Good Hope Community Organization.  Mama Carina sent us good news that the school just received land for a soccer velt. I am passionate about soccer, so this was a great opportunity to make a difference. Upon our arrival to GHCO, we were greeted by very excited children with beautiful smiles! One delightful little boy, GIFT, was brought to GHCO when he was 2 with his sister , Numsa. We watched Gift, in his yellow shirt, race around bare foot on the pebbled dirt with a soccer ball! Gift dribbled the ball proudly, showing off his soccer skills. He was very energetic, and loved to play with the soccer ball. ~ Jenna

Michael

Michael, now 27 years old came to Love In Action in 1998.  Driven by his desire to attend school, Michael earned a full scholorship to Cape Town University, studying Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.  Michael accepts his diploma in June of this year.  Michael recognizes that God indeed has a purpose and a plan for his life and he gives God the glory for all that He has done.  He hopes that his life will be an example to his "brothers and sisters" at Love In Action, that they too can stretch their wings and fly.
Where is Mabopane?

Located 20 miles north of Johannesburg, South Africa, Mabopane is an industrialized city that has previously been used as a landfill for neighboring cities. Millions of people have settled in the Mabopane area with hopes of finding employment, but jobs are scarce, poverty high, and disease rampant. As a result many children can be found tending for themselves and trying to survive.
